William "Bill" Joiner

     William Joiner “Bill”, 92, of Greensboro, MD passed away at his home on Monday, May 17, 2021. He is survived by his loving wife of 72 years (June 1, 1948) Jean H. Joiner; his son, D. Wayne Joiner; a sister, Florence J. Dodge; three adoring grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren.

     Born in Wilmington, DE, Mr. Joiner was the son of the late William Evans Joiner and Edna Watson Hudson Joiner. He had lived in the Greensboro area all of his life and was a 1945 graduate of the Greensboro High School.

     Mr. Joiner was a printer and worked at the Star Democrat in Easton, MD for 18 years and the Baker Printing Co. in Denton, MD for more than 10 years before retiring. After retirement, he worked part time as a radio station attendant for WKDI, a temporary relief mail carrier at Greensboro Post Office, and a transport driver for Homestead Manor Assisted Living. He was a lifetime member of the Greensboro Baptist Church, where he faithfully served for many years as a deacon and trustee. He was also a member of the Caroline County Camp of Gideons International. He loved the Lord and served him diligently.

     Mr. Joiner is survived by his beloved wife of 72 years, Jean H. Joiner of Greensboro; a son: D. Wayne Joiner and his wife Donna of Dover, DE; three adoring grandchildren: Kathy Chambers and her husband Carl of Bedford, VA, Karen Joiner of Harrington, DE, and William D. Joiner of Lewes, DE; a sister, Florence Dodge of Greensboro; six great grandchildren: Cody Chambers (Evelyn) of Rockville, VA; Ashley Smith of Harrington, DE; Christopher Chambers (Emily) of Lynchburg, VA; Rachael Smith of Wytheville, VA; Hayden and Donovan Peery of Harrington, DE; and five great-great grandchildren, Mikaela Dixon, Kennadi Dolly, Chloe Chambers, Dominik Dolly, and Caroline Chambers. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

     Funeral services will be held at 1 PM on Friday, May 21st, at the Moore Funeral Home, P.A. located at 12 S. Second Street in Denton where friends may call from 12 until 1 before the service. The interment will follow in the Denton Cemetery.
