William Roland Towers Jr. of Hobbs, MD passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, May 12, 2025. He was surrounded by his loving family. He was 77 years old.
Born in Easton, MD on January 20, 1948, William was the son of the late William R. Towers, Sr. and Norma Lee Morgan Towers. He was a 1966 graduate of North Caroline High School.
William, best known as Bill, was raised in Hobbs with his brothers: Thomas, Daniel and Jefferson (Jennie). He remained in Hobbs for his entire life.
Bill was the second-generation owner/ operator of Towers Concrete Products, Inc. He was proud of his business accomplishments and the ability to pass it on to future generations.
Bill was very involved in his community. He was a Past Master of Temple Lodge #128 A.F. & A.M. and attended Ames United Methodist Church for 77 years. He enjoyed his involvement with the Chesapeake Walk to Emmaus Community, Antique Tractor Clubs and was a supporter of the Bluegrass Music Community. Bill was an avid collector of antiques and enjoyed sharing his collection that he displayed in the Towers Family Historical Museum.
Bill shared a beautiful life with his best friend and wife of 56 years, Gail M. Towers, who was his high school sweetheart. He enjoyed the time he spent with his daughters: Michele Bodine and Julia McNeil; and his son in-law, Garry Bodine. His grandchildren: Brody (Natalie), Landen (Alexandria), Bailey, Michaela, Michael, Georgia and Jude; and his great-grandchildren: Colton and Owen brought him much joy.
A visitation will be held 5 PM until 7 PM on Monday, May 19, with a Masonic Service 6 PM at St. Luke's Methodist Church located at 100 S. 5th Ave. in Denton, MD. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM on Tuesday, May 20 at the same location. Interment will be private.
